Yellow Cab was the first taxicab company in the United States to partner with Motorola in 1985 to create an automated dispatch system. Yellow Cab was overly-dependent on a previous generation of technology and needed to modernize its systems.

To improve dispatch services and lower overhead costs, Yellow Cab decided to move to a platform supported by the large team at Curb to ensure continuity and to benefit from the Dash+, Marquee, and Way2Cloud (W2C) systems.

Curb and TIA have established a seamless boarding strategy by which TIA clients updated their in-vehicle systems to the new state-of-the-art Curb Dash+ and Marquee. Marquee is a mutli-media terminal that allows passengers to view rich interactive advertisements and process payments on a single device. This provides a frictionless experience for both passengers and drivers. With Marquee, TIA clients are also able to showcase mandated PSAs and messages from local regulators.

Curb’s Dash+ tablet is the most powerful in-vehicle solution for drivers. It comes with a nationally certified digital GPS meter, turn-by-turn navigation, and is integrated with Curb’s W2C dispatch system and Curb’s Driver App.

By gaining access to Curb’s ecosystem, Yellow Cab’s dispatch services have improved tremendously, and have given their drivers increased earnings potential by gaining access to thousands of e-hail trips that flow and dispatch through Curb’s system from public and other third-party demand aggregators.

Curb and Broward Yellow Cab’s synergistic partnership will increase ridership and improve rider experience in South Florida, and its learnings can be easily replicated in other markets.
